BOARD APPROVES 2023-24 ACADEMIC CALENDAR

On Thursday, February 23, 2023, the Victoria Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 2023-24 District Academic Calendar. With this new calendar, students and staff will begin school on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

ENROLLMENT OPENS MARCH 20 FOR 2023 VISD SUMMER CAMP

As part of the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Additional Days School Year (ADSY) initiative, VISD’s Office of Strategic Planning and School Improvement is offering its “LEVEL UP” academic and enrichment camp.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: JAKE FLORES

When Jake Flores was asked to be featured in our February Alumni Spotlight, he agreed without hesitation. He felt he had a story to tell.

Jake Flores graduated from Liberty Academy in 2012. Prior to that, he attended Crain Middle School, Rowland and Shields Elementary School.

Victoria ISD's Leadership Definition, Leading Toward Genius, is separated into three categories (Connecting, Growing, and Reaching). This month our focus is celebrating Connecting to Genius. Connecting to Genius is comprised of four indicators; the third is Serves Students.

For the month of February, each campus selected one employee that embodies the “Serves Students” indicator under Connecting.
